Following the success of the Lysol “World’s Stinkiest Sock” Event in 2022, Reckitt approached Momentum to take the same concept and apply it to a 10 stop summer tour in 2023. Targeting parents that are dealing with the stinkiest smells in the world, Lysol rolled out a 10 stop tour at youth sports tournaments and Walmart locations across the country.
While the stinky sock would still be the centerpiece of the truck used for the tour, the technical component shifted from a photo op, to an interactive 8-bit style game that could be played on either mobile or consoles located in the truck.
The three level game was produced in conjunction with a company called Pixel & Texel, along with a registration form for those entering onsite that would automatically email each consumer a rebate for Lysol Laundry Sanitizer.
My role was managing the build internally, through collaborating with the vendor and relaying creative/client feedback and setting expectations internally on budget, timelines, and gameplay feasibilities.
The game and tour was a success, with over 2,000 consumers from the target demographic entering the space over the course of the tour and over 2,100 gameplays of “Battling Bac” recorded on the consoles as well.
