In 2019, Floor & Decor was expanding rapidly. With stores popping up across the country, Floor & Decor turned to Engine Shop Agency to manage their “Super Saturday” events which coincided with their grand openings in the respective markets.
The concept behind “Super Saturday” was to create an efficient way to activate multiple stores while establishing a meaningful connection within the community.
We accomplished this through:
Setting up oversized games like connect four and cornhole for prizes,
Booking local food trucks that would provide prepaid meals
Booking local high school bands
Engaging with local veteran’s organizations,
Booking face painters and photo booths as needed
Hiring staff to engage with customers through giveaways and completing surveys
Sourcing scissor-lift signage and other displays as needed
Booking sign spinners for the event day
I organized and executed five separate grand opening events, and traveled onsite for each one to manage the overall activation. The events attracted roughly 1,000 customers for each, generating awareness within the desired markets and also giving Floor & Decor the opportunity to support the local community and showcase their impact in the area.
Along with these events, I also fulfilled over 20 one-off asks that included organizing a high school football sponsorship at seven high schools in Wichita, Kansas, coordinating a partnership with the Desert Sands Educational Foundation in La Quinta, California, and booking food trucks and sign spinners as needed.
